where i wanna be at age 30.

Time is passing by, a lot i want to do. Still in my early 20's but i know how fast time rushes by. How  fast time can slip by and leave our dreams unfulfilled. So I've decided to jot them down, hoping that the permanence in ink, or rather the cyberspace will etch them deeper into my subconscious. That's a theory i read about in one of the many books i read.
Anyway,by 30, this is where i wanna be.

1.Be married to the love of my life and happy
2.Have 3 beautiful tots by then-( Ayden, Leo, Alex) diaper changing for me ends by the time am 30. That means an early start is for the best.
3. Own my own house(s). Having a landlord at 30 seems like one lazy existence for me. heck...my mum owned her own roof at that age.
4.Be my own boss, or rather not have to answer to anyone on why i decided to sleep in on a workday.
5. Get to have traveled extensively....What is life if you don't get to go beyond your borders and experience life in another time zone.

I've ran out of steam already. Anyway, that's where i wanna be. And that means i bury my head in hard work for the next couple of years to be able to achieve them.
Try writing your own list. Know what you want to have, then buckle up and work for it.

Lovely day pals.

Lunchtime musings.

it's been a while since i last blogged. Been going through some personal stuff. Growing up a lot faster than i wanted to. Now am back, made peace with my issues and got my head screwed back to it's right place.I know you may be a tad bit curious about what am talking about but all i will say is you will find out soon enough. Anyway, am seated at my desk, the lights have gone off, so no work for now and i can't heat my food because the frigging microwave doesn't run on charcoal. Am hungry, really hungry but i can just hope that the water am steadily gulping will do the trick.Am in thought...none in particular but my mind feels busy. Am thinking of the future, something i have been doing for quite a while now.In 4 months time my life will change, radically change and if i can't grow up soon enough, i will be in trouble...the grown up kind of trouble, not the i haven't read for my tomorrow's exam kind of trouble. It's the adult trouble that many find themselves in. But am lucky. Lucky that i got superman beside me and a supportive family. Not many can say that so am grateful to God for that.Am also thinking of what next year holds for me..I will be a changed person and i may have to postpone my going back to school due to the changes i have refused to explain above.Anyway, am loving my job, enjoying my today's dream. Never thought that a few months after cramming and spending sleepless nights with my then lover- the Microbiology textbook, that i would land in the writers world, rubbing shoulders with people i had always been in awe of since i delved into the world of books. So am where i wanna be for now, my restless spirit is calm....until the itch strikes and i have to grow.
Am also thinking of my mum. God bless her dear soul.I may shudder when she directs her furious spectacled gaze at me but when worst comes to worst, she has my back.
Am also thinking that i should rid myself of this phobia to get close to people.I have many friends but few close friends.By close friends am referring to those whom I would be comfortable  around  enough to break down and cry.The crying is rare and if you find me crying, probably my heart has been torn out of it's cage and crushed into little pieces. Well, now it's time to reach out more....or maybe not.
Well, lights are back on...gotta rush to the kitchen before i have to wait for 20 people before i get to heat my food. want to know what am having for lunch?
Yeah...that's what am having. In case it's not so clear to you, it's mashed potatoes and meat.....and Yes i love food.Nothing comes between me and food, or me and a man who can cook hehe! i can cook a mean dish too.
Happy lunch hour pals.

Tuesday Blues....

Am having quite a day....Ain't sure if it's a good day or a not so good one. Waking up was really hard for me..woke up at 6.05 and i couldn't care less. Either way i knew i would get to work on time. Finding the right clothes to wear is an every day tussle lately, but am catching on( reason why...you will find out soon enough).
was in town in 30 minutes flat and decided to pass by Tuskys to buy some few healthy snacks for the day- where i work everything is super-pricey...am not ready to chuck 20 bob for a banana, am cheap like that.Got to work just 10 minutes before the timeline and settled at my desk.

Now am smiling, one thought makes me happy.Tomorrow is a holiday.
that's how happy i feel.
So no waking up at 5.00 AM, Breakfast in bed and watch 'drop dead diva'
Nothing makes me happier than to do nothing.
See you later.

JUST DANCE.....

When everything seems to be going wrong and your world looks cloudy......just dance.
When your worst nightmare becomes real and there is nothing you can do but hope for the best, just look up to the blue skies and remember that as sure as blue reigns the skies and the sun still shines, so shall your troubles disappear with time.
When all your dreams appear unreachable and your passion unrealistic, just take a look at the palm of your hand......As sure as lines intersperse the small expanse, so shall opportunities appear when you least expect them to. All you have to do is just look out for them.

Dance as often as you can....coz just as there are cloudy days so are there some calm clear days .
Do not take your achievements for granted. Celebrate them, enjoy them, revel in them.
Smile as much as you can, dance when you can, have that deep belly laugh when you can, purpose that you enjoy the most out of your days.
And when the bad days come, remember the happy feeling and know that very soon they will dawn again.

Most successful people in life have a story to tell, a story of hardships and challenges. the difference between them and the average depressed jock is that they chose to get past their problems and found the drive to get back into the 'just dance' zone.

Dance away!

Lovely morning it is....the sun is finally out. Nothing makes my smile brighter than the thought of a sunny day where i can ditch my sweater and step out without an umbrella in tow.....i hate it when it rains, especially in Nairobi. Wouldn't it be great if the rain was allowed to reign only in the rural areas where it is a welcome respite? how cool would that be? The farmers would be happy, No drought would mar our seasons, People in towns could wear white whenever they wanted without fear of puddle splashes from the haughty drivers and i wouldn't have to worry about my hair......you really don't want to see my hair when rained on. It looks like a mop..really not pretty.Well, it is sunny, and am in a sunny mood too.
Today is Thursday, just a few hours to Friday, a day closer to the weekend, when i can sleep in and laze around the house in my nightie and see my favorite people later in the day....That again reminds me that payday is close...fast approaching and now i can't seem to wipe the stupid grin from my face...too bad that i can't indulge and blow my very first paycheck...ever! ( see how epic this is for me?). Seeing as i recently moved out of home, my new place needs some dolling out before i can consider it fit for welcoming friends- unless you wouldn't minding sipping juice on the creatively placed pillows on the floor. In a perfect world, here are the things i would splurge on.
I rarely wear high heels but i would totally rock these.
.

this handbag i would definitely buy...

New comer

1st day of blogging....already feeling like the new little kid in school who realizes that her new classmates have already learnt all their vowels( are they still a,e,i,o,u like back in the day?) and can't utter them for shit. Anyway, only the 1st one week is odd, often spent eyeballing the other kids and gauging who is more up your alley, after that, if you are the bossy type, you end up calling the shots or not. the idea of setting up my own blog has been a long time in coming, since my campus days. If that makes me out as old..hehe! forgive me! i still think am spring chicken, my sunset days are so far away. And again , I believe in one being as young as their spirit.. But just to avoid any confusion, being as am introducing myself into the world of bloggers, will make a short introduction...I  Just finished my University degree in April in a deeply scientific course. Yes ,i  can tell you what bacterium or fungi is bringing on the ashy spots on your face, or what makes you scratch in the most sacred of places...yes i can do that and much more. But such is life that you end up doing something totally different from what you thought you would be doing for the rest of your life. Thing is, life gives you curveballs that you gotta know how to handle....
I hope to meet new friends through this blog, learn a whole lot more and maybe even touch a life...hehe! i really did say that..touch a life. Isn't that why we live? On that note, send your food or cash donations to the starving Kenyans. you would like some help too if circumstances were reversed.

Let's toast to my first day of blogging. Loved the little fruits at the top and the lovely glasses and the nice colours of the drinks..if i could get the green one, i would probably down it in one gulp, not because i love alcohol...No, i actually don't drink, but because it looks so attractive. Now, use of colour is maybe one of the things EABL or the wonderful Keroche could adopt...it would make more drinkers of the lot of us.Anyway, here is to  a great relationship!
